Winter Weather Tips

Benzie Bus is a safe and dependable alternative for people who want to avoid driving on Benzie County's winter roads. To eliminate the hassles of warming the car, brushing off snow, or getting stuck- plan ahead and call for a ride.

Safety comes first

Benzie Bus operators are trained to handle adverse weather conditions. However, buses will not travel roads that are unsafe for driving. If road conditions become dangerous, service may be postponed and/or cancelled until roads have been cleared. Buses may not serve routes that are deemed dangerous because of steep hills, etc. If you have any questions, please call 231-325-3000. Snow and ice on the roads affect all traffic, so buses may experience significant delays during weather emergencies.

Be Prepared

Dress warmly, wear bright clothing, and expect delays.
If your stop is in the middle of a hill, walk to the bottom where the bus can safely stop.
Stand back from the curb until the bus comes to a complete stop; it can slide sideways in slippery conditions.
