BENZIE TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY- PUBLIC NOTICE The Benzie Transportation Authority is soliciting proposals for engineering services required for the design, documentation, bidding and construction administration for renovation of an existing facility to a Public Transit Facility, and to build an additional garage/maintenance facility. Proposals must be received in our office located at 12762 Honor Highway, Post Office Box 341, Honor, MI 49640 no later than 2:00 E.S.T. on Friday, July 31, 2009. Specifications and bid documentation may be obtained at our office Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of July 3, 2009 or by calling (231) 325-3000. Proposals must be in sealed envelopes, telephone or faxed proposals will not be accepted. The Benzie Transportation Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive defects, or to accept the proposal which in their opinion are in the best interest of the Benzie Transportation Authority. Vendors must guarantee that services and required documentation will be completed and submitted to the Authority prior to November 9, 2009 to be eligible for consideration. Specifications and quote documentation may be obtained at our office Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. or by calling (231) 325-3000. Quotes will be accepted in our office located at 12762 Honor Highway, Post Office Box 341, Honor, MI 49640 no later than 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009. Quotes may be presented via the postal service, in person or faxed. Proposals must be received in our office located at 12762 Honor Highway, Post Office Box 341, Honor, MI 49640 no later than 2:00 E.S.T. on Monday, December 21, 2009. Specifications and bid documentation may be obtained at our office Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. or by calling (231) 325-3000. Proposals must be in sealed envelopes, telephone or faxed proposals will not be accepted. BENZIE TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY- PUBLIC NOTICE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The Owner will receive sealed bids for construction and completion of the Energy Upgrades. Bids are to be addressed to the Benzie Transportation Authority and will be received until 2:00 p.m., April 7, 2010 at the Benzie Transportation Authority, 12762 Honor Highway, Honor, MI, 49640 at which time and place all bids received will be opened and publicly read aloud for general information. The Work generally includes replacement of (3) overhead doors and replacement of lighting in the existing garage wing. Proposals will be received as follows: Overhead door work, electrical work. Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the Owner. The proposals shall be submitted on Proposal Forms furnished by the Architect as part of the Contract Documents, and shall be completely executed in strict accordance with the Plans and Specifications. Telegraphic or telephonic bids will NOT be received, accepted or read. The Contract Documents, being Plans and Specifications, are on file at the following locations:
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. local time, March 31, 2010 at the project site at 14150 Honor Highway (US-31), Honor, MI at which time questions and discussions will be entertained regarding the bidding process, alternate construction methods, owner occupancy, site conditions, and any other matters that are of interest. See also Instruction to Bidders “Visiting the Site”. Construction shall commence on or before May 1, 2010 upon notification by the Owner of his intent to award a contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept other than a low bid, or to waive informalities and irregularities in any or all bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the Owner and any employee of the Bidder. No bid may be withdrawn before the elapse of thirty days (30) after the opening date.
